One of the things that frustrates me the most when meeting people and discussing the Egyptian Revolution is the famous sentence: "You - revolts- ruined our economy".. It has become a cliche to the extent that people started believing and acting upon it.

I wonder how great was the Egyptian Economy during the past 30 years! Let me ask some questions may be I am fooled and the "Angles" in SCAF are right:

- What is the average income for Egyptian Employees before & after Revolution?
- What is the ratio between executives and employees salaries before and after Revolution?
- What is the real unemployment rate in the Egyptian Market before & after Revolution?
- What is the relation between the prices and salaries before and after the Revolution?
- What is the collected percentage of taxes required by Billionaires vs. Employees before and after Revolution?
- Who is responsible for not containing the security vacuum that in turn affect investments and tourism?
- Who is responsible for not taking any serious steps towards getting back the stolen money in and outside Egypt?
- Who is scaring investors with their statements about burning Egypt and civil war?
- Who is the one who has an open budget that directly takes its feed from Egypt resources and is refusing to even discuss it?
- Who owns all the Egyptian uninhabited lands, and how can they play a role in getting it down to its real prices? (unless they are happy with the current ones).
- Who is still adopting the same economic strategies and still borrowing billions keeping the next governments trapped?
- Who spent 200 Million pounds on a useless referendum and 1 Billion on a puppet Shura council?
- Who is prolonging the Transitional period that in turn extends the status quo.?

Answer these questions first, and then talk to me about "3agalet el Entag!".

809) 25 January 2012 ... Celebration or Revolution ?!

On 11 Feb and after couple of mins of Omar Soliman's announcement, I tried to call my very close friend Sherif Saleh to celebrate ... I didn't wait till he answers and went on saying MABROOOOOK.. I got a weird voice on the other side saying "who are you?", I answered "aren't you Sherif?", he said no, I said: "that is ok Mabrouk anyway", he surprisingly said: "Mabrouk for what?!! this is bad, army is bad..." I wasn't capable of discussing or even thinking, I just wanted to celebrate so I told him: "thank you, and enjoy the victory" ... Now after a year, I am still asking myself was he right, should I have chosen not to celebrate?!!!

A picture is better than 1000 words ... I have summarized the incidents of the year in these 20 pictures that symbolized each event ... I think the answer to the question (25 Jan 2012 a celebration or a Revolution?) is clear..

An Irony of life and of the international education system too..

Most of the distinguished, attentive, clever and sharp students get technical jobs like Engineers, and Physicians.. while many of those who come behind as average pass college and post-graduate MBA, and become the administrators of the distinguished ones.. Those who fail or below average.. may just go deal in any business, have good connections / work with dirty politicians, and control all of the above !!

Do we need a complete paradigm shift in our systems? I guess so..

Is 2011 really over? This "centennial" year?
A year that witnessed the fall down of 4 regimes (Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen) and the 5th (Syria) is on the way, and change in all the Arab governments ...
A year that witnessed the split of Sudan, and withdrawal of America from Iraq...
A year that witnessed the death of tens of Egyptian & Arab Intellectuals (Anis Mansour, Ahmed Bahgat, Saad El Shazly, Hegazy, Khairy Shalaby, Mahmoud Hafez,...etc) and Celebs (Kamal El Shenawy, Omar El Hariry, Hend Rostom, Gom3a El Shawwan, Talaat El Sadat,....etc) almost ending a whole generation of writers, thinkers, and actors..
A year that witnessed the killing and death of Qaddafi, Ben Laden, & Kim Yong...
A year that witnessed the marriage of the century in London, and the disaster of the century in Japan.
A year that witnessed the first world wide protests in more than 80 countries at the same time...
The year that witnessed the 10th anniversary of 9-11 that seemed nothing beside its events ...
A year that contained events of a century in 12 months!

Now 2011 is over, what do we expect from 2012?
Do we expect a more peaceful Egypt where people start thinking with their minds instead of their hearts?
Do we expect a more fair world where fierce capitalism is replaced with a more just economic system?
or Do we expect more of power struggle and split among Egyptians, and more injustice in the world?

Will 2012 be the end of the world, or the start of a new one?

805) The Egyptian Rower !!

At the end of this long year, I thought a lot about writing a long article, but after re-thinking, I decided to share with you this short story about how do we manage our teams and accordingly our countries, and would leave the commenting to you ...

There was a rowing competition between an Egyptian Team and a Japanese Team. Each boat had 9 people on it. At the end of the race, the Japanese team was found winning while the Arab Team was far left behind.. When the analysis was done, it was found out that the Japanese team had the following structure:
- 1 Boat Manager
- 8 Rowers
While the Egyptian Team had the following:
- 8 Boat Managers
- 1 Rower

The Egyptian Team didn't surrender and decided on a restructure. They now have 1 boat manager like the Japanese Team. In the 2nd round of the competition the Japanese team was still found winning with a huge gap like the 1st round .. When they analyized the results they found that the structure was as follows:

Japanese Team:

-1 Boat Manager

- 8 Rowers

Egyptian Team:

- 1 Boat General Manager

- 3 Deputy Managers

- 4 Assistant Managers

- 1 Rower

Accordingly the Egyptian Team had a meeting to see what went wrong and punish the responsible, and the end of the meeting they decided to fire ..... The Rower!!

P.S. Any resemblance between the GM and the SCAF, or the Managers and the Political Parties, or the Rower and the Egyptian Revolts is not a pure coincidence.

Wish you and Egypt a Happy New Calm Effective Peaceful Year where the Rower can actually Row.

أيام ما كان الشعب طريقه واحد -صفر .... تقول موافقون ، يرد موافقة (حتى لو مردش يرده موافقه) .... كنا كلنا يا إما حزب وطنى يا إما حزب كنبة .. كنا إسم عارفين مين رئيسنا الجاى و إسم أمه كمان ... و عجلة الإنتاج كانت مفرقعة ... و الإخوان فى السجن و السلفيين فى الجامع و المسيحيين فى الكنيسة و المثقفين فى الحظيرة و شنبو فى المصيدة..

803) Naguib & Mahfouz !

This week Egypt and the whole Arab world are celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of the greatest Arab and global novelists and a Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz..

Naguib Mahfouz had a great impact on the development of the modern story in the Arab literature. On the personal level, I find Naguib Mahfouz in the long stories, and Yusuf Edress in the short ones, are the most prominent figures who have always impressed me enough to read. I am more of books and researches reader than novels, but I couldnt resist the intimate world Mahfouz gets me in ... he had this ability to make me feel like I am the director of a movie and can just see all the actors and tools right infront of me. May be that is why I like Mahfouz's novels much more than the movies version.

The weird thing is that till today there are still people who attack Naguib Mahfouz not for his literature or flow, or any artistic issue, but just for the sake of attacking... I don't think it is even worth commenting on what they said ... At the end, history and people will always remember Naguib and forget his attackers as he was "Naguib" (smart) enough to ignore them, and "Mahfouz" (protected) from their evil even when they tried to kill him.

I think this image can say it all ... and actually I don't have much more to say than what I said in my article right after the referendum in March (Open Post 767) ... as the circumstances, attitudes, behaviours, and even mistakes are still the same..

Away from the panic attack liberals and pro-civil country are passing through, we need to see the real political threat here ... I think that Ekhwan wants to write the constitution and change the system into a parliament based system which will guarantee them a looking time of being in power which such state of religious tension and lack of political awareness. They may even make a deal with SCAF to agree upon giving them the special positioning in the constitution and power in trade of that, and can make use of Salafis as a scarecrow.

If the Liberals and pro-civil country continue committing the same mistakes and just keep taking to each other then we will be experiencing a new Theocratic Egypt .. and our Revolution will be replacing Kleptocracy with Theocracy !!!

799) Break the Chain ... Set your Mindset !!

From my conversations with many of my friends, students, and even taxi drivers over the past couple of weeks, I realized that we -conciously or unconciously- are hooked to the past and what has been nailing us to certain perceptions that we mistakenly think about as facts..

Consider with me the following story about Elephants:

Elephants are massive creatures, they weigh at least couple of thousands of kilograms, and stand as high as three or four meters tall. Despite their enormous power, elephants can be chained! It doesn’t seem to make sense; does it?

What chain is strong enough to hold an elephant who struggles to break it? The answer is a small one: a small chain fastened to a metal collar around the elephant’s foot is attached to a wooden peg nailed into the ground. This holds the elephant so strongly that it doesn’t ever struggle to break free.

The way to chain an elephant is to start when it’s a baby. You don’t even need a chain – a strong rope will do.

The baby elephant will struggle, but eventually it will realize that it can’t break the rope, and even worse, continuing to struggle creates a painful burn on its leg. The baby elephant learns not to struggle – it accepts that the limit imposed by the rope or chain is permanent, and there is no use struggling against it.

Sure, the elephant grows up, and becomes the most powerful land mammal on the face of the earth. But the chains in its mind remain, and so the chains on its leg are never broken

We may not be as massive as the elements but the power of our minds is; an inspired being of enormous power and capability. And just like the elephants that we might see tied up, our internal powers are also put in chains. May be because of wrong bring up, or stupid education and media, but we end up not believing in ourselves and the enormous capabilities are locked up within us.

How many of us want to change their jobs, get hooked or break up with someone, practice a hobby, ..etc?! and just keep telling him/herself that so and so are keeping him/her ... money, time, family, country, even Satan! and rarely admit that it is YOU. All these chains can be broken, sometimes easier that you can imagine if you have the strong will, vision, and persistence on the goal no matter what...

Break your chains, live wont stop at your lousy manager, stupid teacher, or crazy wife... If you want to do something and you feel good at it, do it .. If you believe in your ability to do something, don't think much, give it a try and evaluate yourself ... then see how can you take it further..

The "Egyptian Political System" that is not down yet, has embedded all the negative constrains in our minds, and they are now like land-mines that we need to carefully dig for and safely get rid of it..

Just go now and think about 1 single thing that you really want, and try to take practical steps to do it even if you see that there are millions of obstacles... just give it a try..

I wanna share a short story that reflects the Tom & Jerry strategy that we are living in during the last 9 months..

- A hairdresser wispered to his client: "This is the dumbest child on earth, and I will prove it to you."
- The hairdresser puts one pound in one hand and 50 piastres in the other, then calls the kid asking him to choose one.
- The kid took the 50 piastres, and went out of the shop. The hairdresser said that he does that every time.
- On his way out, the client saw the kid coming out of an ice-cream shop, so he stopped the kid and asked him: "Why do you take the 50 piastres and don't take the whole pound every time".
- The kid confidently answered him: "The day I will take the whole pound, the game will be over".

End of story, but not end of the lesson. If the SCAF, the Government and all the old regime members and supports think that they are fooling us, and if we seem to choose the 50 piasters every time, they are just fooling themselves, because no matter what happens now, the future is ours, and we will win...

797) Gaddafi .. The Inevitable End !

What do you see in these pictures? ...
History repeats itself, right? captured in a hole in home-town, killed by their own people ...
The irony is that Gaddafi sold Libya to the west after Saddam's capturing and killing because he was afraid to have the same end. It is an inevitable end for all Tyrants where the only way out is to respect their people and work for their best.
I am sad that it ended this way, but Tyrant drive their people into insanity. I wonder what Bashar felt like when he saw what happened to Gaddafi by his own people.

Sometimes we don't get enough information or give our decisions enough thought before taking them, and then we just regret without understanding how to get better. Through my dealing with tens of companies every year, I have experienced how bad we need much more educated and self-balanced managers to lead our teams, and companies that will in-turn lead our economy. Let me share with you a story we use in leading change and how it is important for the manager to be educated and listens before he talks.

A company, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hires a new CEO. This new boss is determined to rid the company of all slackers. On a tour of the facilities, the CEO notices a guy leaning on a wall. The room is full of workers and he wants to let them know he means business!

The CEO walks up to the guy and asks, "And how much money do you make a week?"

A little surprised, the young fellow looks at him and replies, "I make $300.00 a week. Why?" The CEO then hands the guy $1,200 in cash and screams, "Here's four weeks' pay, now GET OUT and don't come back!"

Feeling pretty good about his first firing, the CEO looks around the room and asks, "Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-off did here?"

With a sheepish voice, one of the other workers said, "Pizza delivery guy from Domino's."

So if you think that you are mr or miss. know it all, please reconsider before taking the wrong decisions and even embarrassing yourself as well.

By the way, this applies too to our useless government that is far beyond management and leadership specially in the time of change. No Vision, No Info, No Control, and hence, No Expectations, and No Results.

In 2006, Will Smith has starred in a really deep and great movie called "The Pursuit of Happiness". What I liked most about the movie is the the ability of its main characters to seek happiness and have the faith that they will get it in-spite of the challenges that keep facing ... I have noticed that many people - including myself- are tending to go either worried or even pessimistic because of the continous stress of bad news and stupid actions and reactions in Egypt. So I decided to post this simple video that gives you quick tips for happiness. Just try some and it really makes a difference... Please let's re-enjoy our lives in order to be able to continue .. It seems that there is still a longer way to go and we need to equip ourselves with peace of mind..

People never like what you do, and you can live your life only once, so you'd better live your own experience with all its ups and downs.

792) Egypt Revolution .. Aybak howa Aktay !

Without introduction ... I am now totally convinced that we are in a big fake drama, and we have wasted 7 months (11 Feb -11 Sept) of our lives in big fat black joke. The only reality was the 18 days (25/1-11/2), after that I feel it was just "film hendy", just like Sept. 11th where today marks its 10th memory.

Let's recall what happened from the beginning:

- On Jan 25th, they tried to get people home through water hoses, and tear gas... It didn't work.

- On Jan 26th, they tried to terrify people through media ... It didn't work.

- On Jan 27th, they cut off communication ... and it didn't work..

- On Jan 28th, they killed and injured people... and it didn't work (made people stronger)..

- On Jan 29th they appointed a VP and changed the Cabinet... it didn't matter.

- On Jan 30th they tried to terrify the people at home and streets... and it made people more determined..

- On Feb 1st they tried to play emotional, and it didn't have the enough impact.

- On Feb 2nd they tried to get us back to dark ages, and we have beaten them...

- On Feb 5th they canceled "El Tawreeth" and it didn't matter then..

- On Feb 8th they tried to compromise... and as if they have said nothing..

- On Feb 10th they tried to delegate power and give promises ... and people ignored them..

- On Feb 11th they moved power to the SCAF as a last resort ... and it worked, and people went home :(

That was the biggest strategic mistake in the history of the Revolution... I have to admit that we were wrong when we went home on Feb 11th, we should have stayed there for another week or two till Mubark men were caught, protesters killers were busted, and a clear timeline is agreed upon for the transitional period. Since then we have been paying the price of not staying there, and each single win came through a struggle with SCAF at first, and then with Islamists, and now with half of the Egyptian People!

I am afraid that Tahrir protests started to be meaningless to SCAF now, we need to think about different strategies to save this revolution that goes along with Tahrir... What I am really sure of is that at a certain level of disappointment and despair, a real 2nd wave of revolution happens, and this time it wont definitely be "Peaceful" as those who will make it will be only demanding one thing ... Taking over power in Egypt in order to be able to apply what others couldn't... and then no one knows how the struggle will look like!

Yes, it may be a bit shocking title .. but this is what is coming to my mind now while I am writing this post right from the heart of the news .. Tahrir Square.

The physical and emotional symptoms are not far from what dear women experience. Egypt is not focusing, dizzy, tired, stressed, and cant coordinate its actions and activities in the right way.
Egypt is moody, anxious, depressed, sore, insomniac and its leaders are almost making her fainting.
Egypt is overreacting, and accusations are all over the place.
Egypt is tearful and needs support, love, care, and respect.

Egypt is not in its normal state, and is passing through hard time that will hopefully lead one day to the freedom and democracy.

Are you wining, frustrated, cursing either the revolts or the rulers ... is that really all what you have got? What a shame!

What is your mission in life, do you have one? What are you doing to achieve it?

Whether you are with or against or even undecieded regarding the 25th of Jan Revolution, you for sure won't be happy with what the street vendors and beggers are tunrining Tahrir square into these days.
For business reasons, I visit Tahrir at least 2 times a week -some weeks daily-, and I really hate what I am seeing from these vendors who are fighting each other for occupying bigger areas of the great square, the icon of our revolution. I was even an eye witness to the last couple days events and big part of it was because of or involving these street vendors.

This is not about July 8th Protests, but I am just against taking Tahrir as a Career whether for street vendors, beggars, thugs, or even any un-peaceful revolt. It has to be kept as an Icon of a clean and great revolution, and I really don't understand what is the SCAF waiting for to build the Martyrs Memorial in the middle of it.

My work (academic, corportae, and development) and education allowed me to meet and deal with thousands of people in different places and from different races. The surprising thing is that the more people I meet, the smaller percentage of professional people I experience.

The Ironic thing is that the most professional and competent person whom I deal with on daily basis is the laundry guy (el Makwagy). Why?

- He knows his work and competencies by hard. (Edge)

- He never missed a deadline. (Punctual)

- He is always quick without compromising on the quality. (Customer Oriented)

- He delivers consistent and reliable service. (Quality)

- He doesn't over promise. (Confident)

- He never steals something left in a piece of cloth. (Honest)

- He has hard working environment in the streets and he never complains (Reliable)

- He doesn't interfere in my life and talk about his life. (Seprates Business & Personal)

- He treats all his clients the same way regardless of their religion or social standard. (Fair & Liberal).

How many people who do meet on daily basis and are driven by such values. I really wonder about the sercret of his professionalism in a country that has sneaky and unprofessional attitude "fahlawa" as a core competency! and how does he keeps his motivation and satisfaction.

When people get married in Egypt and the Arab World in general, they usually try to know everything about each other and their families, and in pre-arranged marriages, they may even have lists to ask each other to make sure that they are compatible.

What I am wondering about is how do they know that they are sexually compatible, and do they discuss that or not since it is one of the critical issues in marriage that can lead to its falling apart.

I am also wondering about men in this part of the world who insist that they are perfect and even give us a headache about how great they are in bed, and how many women are on their agenda, while their wives may be complaining about their performance. Do some men think that they know how to please women while they really just make them feel frustrated and sometimes humiliated?

Before someone thinks that I am calling for pre-marital sex, I am not calling for anything, I am just wondering how can you make sure that you are marrying the right person on different levels.

783) Being Egyptian 2.0 ::: The Next Generation !

I arrived in Alexandria today for a business trip and was just having Coffee in Costa Alexandria, and this cute kid came to me and said:
"I am Maleek, do u mind sharing your computer with me? "
I answered: "sure, I am Mohamed, how old are you?
He said: "3 years, and turning 4 this month".

He moved and positioned himself between me and the netbook, then took a quick look at my screen, and stopped at Khaled Saeed's photo and said: "El Shohada2".
I answered: "Yes, indeed!!"
Then he quickly asked loudly: "These Martyrs died for what (homa el shohada dol mato 3ashan eih)?".
I was taken by the question, and I realized how pure yet deep the question is, and how hard is to really answer such a small kid in a way that he can understand and feel ... I found myself saying: "3ashan Masr teb2a a7san, 3ashan enta teb2a a7la, 2ashan kolena ne3eesh".
He said: "and who killed them, the old man (el ragel el 3agouz)?"
I didnt know what exactly he is refering to but I answered: "yes, the old man, who didn't want the rest of us to be happy, and took all the good stuff to himself and his family (khataf el 7agat el 7elwa kolaha)".

The kid killed me by saying: "I am not afraid from the old man, and if I saw him, I will let him know that he should have died in order for the martyrs to live (law shoft el ragel el 3agouz kont ha2olo el mafrood enta temoot 3ashan el shohada2 ye3eesho we yefra7o)".
I just took him in my arms and kissed his forehead saying: "God Bless You and all your generation if they think like you my dear".
The Kid made my night, my week, may be my year, and gave me hope that one day, what our generation has done, will be continued ...

Amazingly at the time I started losing my motivation, God sends me a 3 years old kid to push me forward...

Before your mind takes you to any other meaning ... I am fine, and my health is great thank God, we kolo tamam ... ya3ni Strauss El Ganzabeel ;)
I am sorry in advance for being too personal here, but as you know this series of "E3terafat Mohaly" can be nothing but personal.

So What am I talking about here?
Some of my friends in different situations were discussing that "You can make a good "3arees"! Actually my reply was: I will not be able to fill the vacant position of "3arees" for a woman!! I am not applying and wont be applying for such position even if I proposed to a woman and married her as well. Why? because I dont wanna fill any structured position in life whether professional or personal, but I want to fill a gap, a real need for a life time best friend who happens to be her husband as well.

For a woman who is really looking for "3arees" position, I can be of a great disappointment. How come?
1) If she is looking for positions, titles, or certificates: I may have that now, but I am planning to leave it all and start over from scratch one day as I did before once I feel that I have given all what I have in such position or title.
2) If she is looking for stability: I have been settled in Cairo for years (and sometimes Hurghada), but not planning to stay there on the long term ... I gotta move to the seashore and start my cultural project there.
3) If she is looking for materialistic stuff: Year after year I am planning to have more public work/service which means more percentage of my time will go on volunteer basis (unpaid).
4) If she is looking for connections: Once I leave my positions, I am sure more than half of the connections will be gone. That is life, and that is people.
5) If she is only physically attracted: I change every couple of years, lose & add weight, lose & add muscles, (I wish can say I can add more height), have or lose hair or goatee...etc. I am a Mutant man !
But if she is looking for me as a person, who I am, my thoughts, ideas, believes, without the titles, possessions, certifications, looking directly at my heart, my CORE, and likes it, then she has guaranteed a consistent life-time friend and partner who can happily hold the title "husband" & hopefully "father" as well.

I am someone who is looking at life from an overall perspective, and knows what I wanna do today and tomorrow. Someone who is straight forward and values freedom more than anything in the world (read my articles). If she likes that, and realizes it as well, then she is welcomed to my world .. she is my long waited for partner.

I am NOT looking for a "bride", I am looking for my best friend for the rest of my life.

776) Labour Day ... Labour Year !

Egypt is celebrating today its first labour day after Mubarak who turned this day from a symbol for hard work and production for prosperity to a day for "ass kissing" for him and his gang. This year's celebration comes within a world-class revolution that amazed everyone, but it can't keep amazing everyone if it doesn't turn out to be an ignition for a powerful production and dedication from all the working force in Egypt. This is not only needed for the sake of the success of the revolution, but it is needed to make a real difference in Egypt that everyone can feel & experience.

This country won't develop by words, intentions, or even prayers. It needs hard work every day to compensate the enormous time wasted during the past years. In my opinion everyone of us should:
- Focus on his/her work or study, and don't waste a minute in playing, office politics, procrastination ...etc.
- Read more and be more specialized in your field. The world is moving and developing very fast, and in order to catch it, we need to move even faster. (etlobo el 3elm walao fel Seen).
- Use time off in some public work, and helping others who was misfortunate in their education, to be better and more productive.
- Don't lose faith and hope, and be sure that hard work will never fail you and always pay at the end (wa kol e3malo, fasayara Allaho 3amalokom).

Let's turn 2011 to a Labour Year and start from today ... The Free Labour Day.

774) Being Egyptian 2.0: Building a Generation !

Today in the morning, there was a traffic jam beside a school, and I starred at a mother who kept her eyes on her kids till they safely entered the school, and kept on looking back to be sure that they fine and didn't forget anything, then she left and her face and eyes looking to the sky as if she was praying for God to keep them safe.

I have always seen the relationship between the mother and her children a very unique and sacred relationship and I can claim that if we have healthy relationship with our mothers, the whole society will be much better even in Business & in-turn Economy. This relation is the basic unit for a successful community that our Country can't really develop without setting it right. If you don't believe me, consider the following story:

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision.
The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score.
- The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "none".
- The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?" The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.
- The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.
- The director asked, " Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.
-The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.
The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid. The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.
This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future. After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.
Next morning, the youth went to the director's office. The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: " Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"
The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'
The Director asked, " please tell me your feelings."
The youth said,
Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today.
Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.
Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.
The director said, " This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.
Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?

The most important thing is our kids should learn is how to appreciate the effort, experience the difficulty, and learns the ability to work with others to get things done, or else, the next generation of Egypt won't lead the real change that we are looking up to after our great revolution.

773) Being Egyptian 2.0 :: Being Ants !!

I would like to dedicate this post to pay respect to one of the smallest creatures in the world, which I have learnt a lot from it, and I am asking you to join me in being one of its students; "The Ant".

Ants have taught me NOT TO SURRENDER. Ants never quit or surrender. I tried to stop it, and it never stops, it will always find a way or a strategy to reach its goal or DIE FOR IT!

Ants are always THINKING POSITIVELY. They are always looking for the first array of light to come out and enjoy the warmth even if it is an early summer day within winter. They keep thinking about Positive times during down times.

Ants are always PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE. They are all over the place during the summer working hard to achieve their targets for the winter. They know that there are good and bad times, and they act accordingly to keep the balance by not taking the good times for granted, and being ready for the bad times.

Ants are AMBITIOUS. They don't stop and say, that is enough work for this year. They are always looking to give more work and get more results (food). They enjoy achievements.

Ants work in groups and enjoy TEAM WORK. They believe that the power of the group will be much better results that the power of the individual.

If you think that the Ants are weak, then you are deceived big time. Ants can handle pressure that is relatively equal to whole house if carried by a human, and they can survive a jump that is relatively equal to jumping from Cairo Tower.

So ..
Please Don't Surrender ... Don't Quit.
Please Think Positive .. and Be Realistic.
Please Plan for the Future .. and Enjoy the Present
Please be Ambitious ... and Don't Stop.
Please Work in Teams ... and Maximize the Results.

Egypt (can't run away from thinking politics) needs this kind of thinking ... Egypt needs its people not to be quitters, needs them to be positive, planning for the future, and building the present, ambitious, and enjoys working together to reach the common goal that we all dream about no matter our orientation or believes are.

772) The Tahrir Deja Vu!

I was so happy yesterday with the hundreds of thousands (over Million) protesters in Tahrir square. I was standing remembering the same feeling I had in the first Melyoneya on Feb 1st. But after I was back, I was shocked to see & hear about the sad attacks and the falling down of 1 person and 71 injuries. I couldn't sleep and decided to go and see myself as everyone was telling a different story .. by the time I arrived in Tahrir, the auwful feeling I had on Jan 29th ... same looks, same smell, same confusion... It was like a bad Deja Vu.

It is simply a total mess, and in all cases regardless of who did waht, the Military council has proven that can't be politically reliable. I am against breaking the curfew, but I can't be with violence, I can't be with leaving the senior thugs (Mubarak's men) free then having them as an excuse for attacking. I don't know who were in Tahrir, but I know for sure that the Military Council needs to be transparent and know that it is in power by the legitimacy of the people. If the council wants to continue till the drawn scenario of Dec 2011 presidential elections, then it must know that the strategy it has been following since the impeachment of Muabark will lead us to a dead-end, and opens a huge window for the old regime to come between the army and the people. But if they can't be accountable for what is happening (whether they are responsible or not), then they can call for exceptional presidential elections for a 2 year term president (or presidential council) who is elected by the people and has certain defined tasks (voted for with his election) that he has to accomplish within that time.

Our esteemed Council, we can't afford to work against each other, please have the courage of being transparent, and tell us what is really happening today, yesterday, and tomorrow.... and admit if there are mistakes, it is fine to ask for help ... but please stop treating us as if we are in your custody.

769) Mohaly fel Magles el 3askary !!

I woke up on the morning of Saturday February 12th to realize that this is the fist morning for Egypt without Mubarak ... 10,720 mornings had passed since Mubarak came to power and didn't leave till The Military Council obliged him to... Now after more than 40 mornings without Mubarak, I find myself wondering why do I feel that I still feel, smell, and almost see Muabark every morning! I kept on thinking and thinking till I felt drained, so I decided to listen to some soft music in the radio and take a small nap!.....

I saw myself entering the Military Council on the morning of Sat 12th while wondering why everyone is saluting me with respect, then I realized that I am the head of the military council ... I am the Field Marshal himself ! I met with the extended council and stressed that we have supported the people's revolution, and we have to be up to the responsibility and trust that people have put in us. I have decided to have a whole day brainstorming session that ended up in an action plan. In the evening, I have called 50 of the prominent figures as well as some of the youth to discuss this action plan.. Everyone was happy about it and we did some modification to cater for everybody's needs.

On the following day (13/2), I have issued a constitutional declaration where:
- I dropped the 1971 constitution completely, and asked the Egyptian people to have a referendum on March 19th to chose the members of the establishing committee for drafting the new constitution that will be issued by the end of 2011 before the presidential elections.
- I have declared the cancelation of the Parliament (both houses) and local municipality senates as well.
- I have impeached Mubarak's appointed government, and asked Dr.Sharaf to head the new government, and have one of the young 30sh organizers of the revolution as his Vice.
- The declaration as well indicated that the ruling party will be dissolved and all its money and properties will be confiscated and returned back to the state.
- The council will be ruling along with a Consulting Committee (the 50 figures) till end of 2011 where the presidential elections will be done by then, and a new president is elected to rule the country for 2 transitional years (2012-2013) where a new parliament will be elected with a fair chance for everyone to run for it.

Then after the appointment of the new government, I have met with the new prime minister and decided do dissolve the state security services, and have its activities transferred to the Egyptian Intelligence and be under Judicial supervision. All the senior officers and their assistants were detained by the Army till their trail.

On the same day, I have issued a statement for the detention of Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, Gamal Hosni Moubarak, Suzan Thabet, Safwat Al Sharif, Ahmed Fathy Serour, Zakaria Azmy, and Mofeed Shehab where they will be obliged to be stay at their homes with no source of wire or wireless communication till they are put on trial. This is in addition to those who have been detained already. However, I have given my orders to have Habib El Adly's & his assistants’' trials transferred to a military trial for accusing him of Killing the 25 Jan Martyrs.

After a week, I have signed the new governors appointments along with the major and critical positions in Media, Universities, and civil society.

By the beginning of March I decided to re-open the stock market, and establish a committee to meet and deal with all financial problems in the different sectors, and report their recommendations accordingly. Meanwhile the corruptions trials have been accelerated to be able to get back our money as soon as possible.

I was happy to see the people participating in the referendum for the constitutional council on the 19th, and then calling for a 1 million stand in Tahrir for saluting the Army on April 1st for "saving the revolution".....

Mixed sounds were floundering in my head .. till I started recognizing a clear voice coming from the Radio saying: "We would like to thank you Mr.Safwat and Mr.Azmy for your valuable contribution in our program, and now we will be listening to Bataloooda Wesma3oooda, yama lessa neshof we yama".

768) Being Egyptian 2.0 ::: Being Optimistic !

Being Optimistic doesn't mean being an idiot as some people say ... Being Optimistic is having the faith that no matter what, you will reach your goal

In such major change, we need to keep up the spirit especially if there are others who are working hardly to destroy all the gains and guess what; it seems they still have the believe that they will win after all what happened.

You want to be pessimistic and see the future of Egypt as dark as it gets, it is your right ... but please know that you are contributing to this dark future by surrendering in the middle of the battle for democracy.

Would you please join me in imagining the following:

- Imagine if Narmer (first Egypt King 3200BC) had felt that it is impossible to unite lower and upper Egypt, the whole pharohic era wouldn't have existed.
- Imagine if Ahmos (the king who kicked the Hyksos -16th century BC- and established modern kingdom) had felt that Kamos (his preprocessor) has done all what he can, and it is impossible to re-unite Egypt.
- Imagine if early Muslims had surrendered after their defeat in the battle of Uhud (7th century AD) and losing some of the best men at that time.
- Imagine if Mamluks had given up after the fall of the Islamic Caliphate in Baghdad (13th century AD) and killing all the Muslim Government by Mongols.
- Imagine if the Egyptian Sheikhs and Scientists had surrendered to the French & Turkish occupation in the turn of the 19th century AD and didn't insist on establishing modern Egypt through Muhammed Aly Pacha.
- Imagine if Nasser and Sadat had surrendered after the pan Arab defeat in 1967 and didnt stand up and fight for getting back Sinai in 1973.
- Imagine that we - Egyptians- have given up and left Tahrir during the 25 Jan revolution.

All of these incidents -and many others - in the Egyptian history prove one thing .... Those who have the faith that no matter what will happen they will fight and reach their goal, have always won, one way or another .. and those who had surrendered to their fears (that are true and on solid basis I cant deny) have contributed to their internal defeat that eventually lead to real defeat of everyone.

Think positive ... and realistic ... know your enemy, and know that he is powerful, and know that the more the enemy is strong, the more the victory is meaningful. Just start by yourself and think about the little things that will lead to bigger gains ... check http://www.facebook.com/Egy2020

767) Mothers' Day: Masr Heya 2ommy !

This year we have all celebrated mother's day together, we have all celebrated it with Egypt (2om El Donya). The referendum day was a precious present that Egypt deserved big time. Although I wish that we have got her a better present (a new and soon constitution) by saying No, but the pride I have seen in the eyes of the people, and the millions standing in the streets for hours made me feel that Egypt is finally celebrating its first Mother's day in looooong years. I was optimistic about continuing the revolution and now I have more solid reason to be more optimistic despite of the disappointing results that I totally respect.

"Our Path for Democracy is not over yet, it has just became harder"... it wasn't a game or a battle as much as fighting for reaching democracy in a better way. Anyway, being a strategist obliges me to overcome my sadness, and think more strategically about reaching our goal... I think that there are some important points and lessons that we have to take into consideration after going through the first real democratic experience:

1. Saying Yes or No is over, and hence the split should be over, and we both should focus on reaching democracy in the best possible way taking into consideration the new obstacles resulting from saying yes. (Check The Egyptian Democracy).

2. There must be a coalition of all non-NDP, and anti-theocracy supporters, where we join forces in working together, reaching out, and campaigning so that this coalition can aim for 50% of the new People's assembly. We have to know who is running for each area and what is his/her "agenda" before voting. We have to fight as well for giving the right of Egyptians abroad to Vote.

3. The Internet is the right media for exploring, discussing, and agreeing upon strategies, but it is not the right media for a huge reach out (Cairo 41% said no, while it reached 80+% in some governorates). If we want to make a real difference, we need to be present in all the major cities of all the governorates, specially in "People's Assemble Elections". We need to talk to people in their language, and ADDRESS their concerns.

4. Egyptians love their country, but many of them are illiterate or politically ignorant, and it is the role of the well educated people to educate the first about how not to be bought, and educate the 2nd how to read between the lines and look further than his/her feet.

5. Religion will be part of the game whether we like it or not, so we have to make use of the religious figures who are supporting our approach for democracy (non-Theological), and be ready for all the questions, and assumptions made by Ekhwan, Salafyeen, Gihad...etc.

6. We have to know that the path is still long to reach the civil democratic state, and we should support each other, complete each other, and always think of the overall welfare of the country not ourselves...let's dedicate sometime every week for working on our goal, 5 or 10% of the time, let's forget about summer vacations this year and take the time off in working more toward the goal....

2011 is a turning point in the history of Egypt, and for the first time, we can really make a difference of where this country will be heading.

766) We are making History .. Let's be up to it !

19/3/2011 is a historic day in Egypt ...

For the first time since the establishment of the Egyptian Republic in 1953 (actually since 1924), many Egyptians are going with a free will and after long debates to give their vote knowing that every vote does count and make a difference. This is the first time that we don't really know what will be the real result. Actually, I am expecting that about 20 million people will join and the winning majority won't be like the unrealistic previous differences.

By now, you most probably have made up your mind...and whether you will vote Yes or No, you have to be ready to accept what the majority chooses and start acting upon it and see how you will plan for the next period accordingly. No for Violence, No for protesting, No for attacking, Yes for working together for a real Democracy. Democracy means ... thinking, debating, campaigning, voting, and accepting, then evaluating, thinking...etc.

I am completely convinced with NO, and respect those who will say Yes.

May God Bless Egypt and guide us for its best.

765) Yes & No Scenarios!

I am really happy with the debates taking place these days .... It is not easy and people are not used to it, but bit by bit everyone will be an expert in applying it. There are people who has made it clear that they are convinced with no, other with yes, and still some left undecided.

This is a summary of both scenarios and consequences for those who are still confused. If you are pro or against, please respect others opinions, and remember that:YOUR VOICE IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.For me, I have already made up my mind against the amendments as indicated in the last post (764).

Please remember it is not a fight, we are exercising our first real debate for democracy... There are no personal interests, we are all trying to vote for a better Egypt, each from his/her point of view... So let's debate but not fight, and ask God to Bless the country in both cases.

764) I will GO and say NO !

I usually don't take much time in realizing and taking decisions. However, it took me a whole week to think about shall I vote for or against the constitutional amendments on the referendum taking place after another week (on March 19th). Although I am aiming for having a completely new constitution -since we had a revolution for "eskat el nizam" and starting a new era with new rules, values, and systems- I tried to give it a try and think about the amendemnts, read a lot, watch TV programs, and discuss with friends... After all these activities I have finally decided to go on 19/3 and vote AGAINST the amendments, I will simple say NO.

Why did I reach this conclusion, why will I say NO?

1. Presidential Powers: In a country still having people protesting saying "We are Sorry Mubarak", I don't trust any president with such Devine powers in the constitution. I don't even trust myself if I have all these powers. So what will oblige the new president to call for a consitution that will minimize his or her authorities

to less than half. Please don't say: Tahrir Square, this is like "Wednak Meneen ya Go7a" (Arabic quote for taking the long and sophisticated way instead of cutting it short and simple)! I do support having the next president for 1 term only.

2. The Package voting: (voting for the whole changes) is simply unfair and doesn't make sense because if I don't agree with any of the articles, I have to say No for the rest as well. For example, I am pro cancelling article 179 (Terrorism), but at the same time against some of the modifications in article 75 (Marriage, & No max. Age), and some other points, then simply I can't say yes.

3. No Options: Even if they will have it as a package there should be 2 options. For example in article 139, I am for obliging the president to have a Vice-President, but I am not for having it by appointment (what prohibits him of getting his cousin, or even son as a VP!). Electing a VP will help us to have more control on the absolute power of the president, and have smooth transition of power till the fixed elections date. I would have preferred to have 2 or 3 clear strategies or plans to choose from.

4. Obligation for a New Constitution: article 189 obliges People's assembly to call for a new constitution, and says nothing about obliging the president to call for it if he was elected first! In addition, the committee responsible for establishing the new constution should be elected directly from the people like what happened in many countries all over the world (Tunisia will do it in July).

5. People's Assembly elections: Voting yes means I agree on the Supreme Council plan to have parliament elections in June, and this is a scary thought for me. Elections while the revolution is not over yet, and parties are not formed yet, is very risky and won't have real reflection of the street powers specially if we continued electing people the same way we do (single vs. coalition lists).

6. Gaining Time: There should be an extra point in the referendum giving us the option of what will be done if the majority said no (most prob. re-amending, or hopefully new constitution). I think saying No will oblige the Supreme council to consider what the people want and stop the unrealistic plan of finishing everything by August without having clear and solid steps in paving the way for democracy and new parties representation.

The Government has launched a poll to see the overall direction of the people regarding this issue (they finall decide to make use of the IDSC) and it ended up in 59% saying No.

I think the best solution is setting some "Mabade2 Destoreya" that can temporarily replace the illegitimate constitution and make us survive for the next 6 months while working on a new constitution leading to electing a new People's assembly and eventually a new president by the end of 2011.

I didn't write this article to make you say no, it is your vote and you are responsible for it. I was just reflecting my thoughts, findings, and concerns. The only thing I am urging you to do is to go and vote. I am against boycotting it as I see it very risky... Experience having a value and the ability of making a difference.

For me, I will GO and say NO...

762) Being Egyptian 2.0: The Egyptian Democracy !

Since Mubarak's second speech, I have been watching -and experieicing myself- numerous debates between people for and against one issue or another (Mubarak ends his term or not, people leave the streets or not, and the famous debate about Shafik that wasted a lot of precious time and effort). Having different opinion is something needed and very healthy if we want to have a democratic system on all levels, I remember a Japanese proverb saying: "The day we stop discussing different opinions, they day we stop producing". However, what I didn't like is the immature culture of not understanding what debates and discussions are all about. I have seen friends un-friending each other on facebook, I have seen friends insulting and cursing each other...FOR WHAT, for having different Opinions!!

Honestly I was afraid that this will be the Egyptian Version of Democracy, and for a minute I was afraid that what Omar Soliman said about democracy in Egypt was right. But I quickly got these negative thoughts out of my mind, and decided to be more positive through getting engaged in all the discussions and keeping the highest level of tolerance and acceptance till I oblige the other party to respect the conversation without turning it into personal debate or fight.

That is why I decided to write about democracy and how can we have our own positive understanding of democracy in Egypt keeping into consideration our culture and norms. I do believe that there are certain rules about democracy that is common everywhere, but there are some other that have to consider the culture of each country.. So how do I see Egyptian Democracy?

Common Rules:
- Freedom of expression: Listening to each other, and respecting others opinions evern if we disagree.
- Tolerance: Entering any debate with the intention of changing your mind if it makes sense.
- Acceptance: of the opinion of the majority, and the rigths of the minority.
- Faith: Knowing that your voice count even if you are a minority.
Egyptian Flavour:
- Charisma and Kindness: It is part of the culture here that at least 50% of the discussion will be based on the charisma and how kind is your opposition.. We are emotional, and we have to take that into consideration.
- Sarcasm: Ability to mock different parties but within the limits of not insulting them.
- Fazlaka: We may expect too much talking and lengthy introduction to the point, and knowing everything.

What was happening for those for and anti Shafik, and now between Muslims and Christians, Men, Women, black and white lists...etc is not right... I mean everyone has the right to express his opinion but without attacking or fighting others. Your opinion is right but may be wrong, and my opinion is right but may be wrong. We have to realize and differentiate between having different opinions, and those who want us to be always on fire leading to Chaos. We need to reach a win win situation. We can't afford any party losing in such critical time.

How to Turn REVOLUTION to EVOLUTION?
Educate people about Democracy and its values.
Volunteer time to help People understand and share.
Optimism will never let you give up, specially during hard times.
Love will help you not to hate people who have different opinions.
Unity of different backgrounds and ideologies into one big vision.
Trust is essential for people to cooperate even if they have different beliefs.
Integrity leads to credibility and trust.
Organization of people who share the same values and thoughts.
Non-Violence is the tool of the powerful people (we were a great example for the world).

We have impressed the world with our Egyptian Revolution, and we need to continue impressing them with our Egyptian Democracy.

761) The Arab Kleptocracy of Egypt !

After seeing all this corruption in Egypt by the "National Democractic Party" and the "State Security", I can say that we will be unfair if we called what was happeneing in Egypt as Autocracy.

An autocracy is a form of government in which one person possesses unlimited power, but this person may be working for the sake of Egypt with a clear vision and doesn't hear except his voice, and this wasn't exactly the case with the former regime.
I think what we had is simply a kleptocracy which is a term applied to a government subject to control fraud that takes advantage of governmental corruption to extend the personal wealth and political power of government officials and the ruling class (kleptocrats). This is done through taking from state funds at the expense of the wider population, sometimes without even doing an honest service. This is the official definition of the word, and I feel that as if it has been tailored exactly on the Egyptian Regime although it has been there since the Greeks. The word has a complete and solid meaning now when you apply it on Mubarak's era. The term simply means "ruling by thieves".
I am asking you dear readers to use the right word for what we have been through. We were experiencing a nightmare of a Kleptocratic Regime that had been ruled by Theives, and had been protected by Thugs. We have to be persistent on getting everyone specially the big whales on trial and pursue every penny in Egypt and abroad. It is our children and grand children's right and they won't forgive us if we didn't do our best to get it back.
"تسقط لصوصية مصر العربية".

So let's work together on removing the traces of this UGLY regime and move on to Real Democracy where we, through consensus, direct referendum, or elected representatives exercise equal control over the matters which affect our interests. Sometimes you will be within the majority, sometime you will be a minority, but this doesn't matter as long as you have a say.

760) Egypt 2.0: ENGAGE in the Major CHANGE!

Before you read... I am not lecturing you or forcing you to do anything... I am just putting down my thoughts, expertise, and experience through my writings as a trial to contribute for helping people to understand and manage change in such challenging period. Just read, digest, and build your own conviction.

From what I have seen and read in the facebook, twitter, and even on some blogs, I can say that there are many people who are not fully aware of what does major change mean. Change simply and generally means moving from one stable state to another. In order to understand the nature of change you need to realize:
- Its Magnitude: How big it is?
- Its Scale: What & Who does it cover?
- Its Direction: Which way it is heading?

In the case of major changes, there are certain things that have to be expected and taken into consideration or else we will be in real mess. These things are:
- It is a dynamic, fast, and relatively chaotic period.
- It experiences never ending conflicts, discussions, & rumors.
- There are Change agents (promoters), critical mass, and opposition (anti-change who may hate change or fear it or were benefiting from the old situation).

The best kind of change is gradual change but that is in the normal situations, sometimes -like now- the best change is the radical change with all its casualties.

So mapping this to the current situation, you may expect the following:
1) Feeling lost understanding the magnitute, scale, and direction of change.. We are 85 million, and there are many teams involved:
- the revolutionist who are insisting on the radical change to clear it all once and for all,
- the ordinary people who are mainly watching and are sincere about wanting the best for Egypt but don't really know what is the best thing to do (Critical Mass).
- the non-revolutionists who are with the revolution but anti-fast change and seeking gradual change & more time.
- the opposers who were benefiting from the previous situation (legally or illegally).
2) Instability in the typical day-to-day life and dynamic changes at least till the Presidential elections if not till end of 2011.
3) Changes in the behaviour and attitude of the people (some immediately, some gradually).
4) Lots of rumours, decisions, anti-decisions, discussions, attacks, counter attacks, conflictis..etc.
5) By time you will find yourself driven either for being a change agent promoting for change and fighting till the last minute, or being anti-change or anti complete change (for one or more reasons of the mentioned above). The side that will prevail and decide the dimenions of that change is the side that will attract the critical mass of people.

SO WHAT SHOULD BE DONE?

On the Marco/General Level:

1) I think that in order to pass this period successfully, there must be a coalition of all the different sectors that meets with the Army and the Government every 2 weeks during this period to:

- follow up with a definite action & timed plan.

- exchange and explain different points of view

- discuss what is next.

2) After each meeting there must be a press conference explaining what happened and what to expect.

3) Have a webpage/group and hot number for people to ineract with their different opinions and suggestions before and after each meeting.

4) Keep trusting the army (as a whole), while keeping the right of protesting every friday as well. There are many people in Army supporting the revolution, so even if some of its leaders against, our pressure will give more power to those with us to help in pushing the change towards the right direction. We were partners in making this revolution happen and we have to continue as partners in managing this period with complete transparency till this challenging transitional period ends.

Then, What is expected from you?
1) Thinking positively and having faith in order to ride through all the setbacks.
2) Working hard and producing as much as you can in order to increase the overall production of the country.
3) Double checking any piece of news before believing or promoting, and don't set your opinion according to one source... read as much as you can, and develop your own conviction.
4) Speaking up your opinion and accept different opinions as we are all (hopefully) seeking the welfare of the country. There is no one always right opinion, but respect and acceptance is the key for fruitful discussions.
5) Help others who feel lost, or thinking about the current damages or losses. The 1st and 2nd priority goes to leading the change successfully, then there are many ways to compensate for the collateral damage happening. We dont pass through such circumstances even every century!
6) Don't rush getting back to normal.. Please don't treat the revolution as if Egypt was engaged in the world cup for 2 weeks, it won, we celebrated, and that is it .... What we are passing through is like having an operation where we wish to have it over and get back to our life, but the operation has to be done in the right way, time, and procedures or else you will be risking our health or may be our whole life.

We are in a state of major change ... A REVOLUTION...A radical change.. Thinking as if we are in normal circumstances is against all the concepts of successful change management. We have been in deep shit for decades, and we have just stopped its feed, but there is still hard work to clean it up then polish it to be able to live in 3ala nadafa.

759) Is it Intended "My Dear" ?!

Although we should be now focusing mainly on the constitiution and preparation of elections and the checklist we need to finish during the transitional period, I find that huge amount of time is wasted of Shafik where people are split and really wasting a lot of time and energy (latest online poll with 124,000 particpants indicated that 57% against and 43% for Shafik)... which I hope that it is not intended. Although I am completely against him being there as I don't see him up to the event but I am trying to be objective and see what did he do till now, taking into consideration 1 month in a revolution time is like a year in normal times.

Today Shafik completes 30 days in office.

For me what he did so far:

During Mubarak:

Positive:

- Appearing on TV in 3 channels talking in simple way, dressed informally, and trying to open communication channels with the people (it is positive compared with the complete ignoring people used to with Nazif's Government).

- First prime minister to say sorry (although it was ridiculous coming after 24 hrs 11 dead amd 1000 injured).

Negative:

- Promising that no one will touch us in Tahrir, and find the thugs coming to start an 11th century battle in Tahrir after couple of hours of his promise.

- All over the TV channels for the rest of the week except on "Mawk3e3t el Gemal" where his presence was needed the most, I wonder in such critical time, when did he work.

- Extremely provoking Interview with BBC telling people in Tahrir to keep there and everything will go on, mubarak will stay, and we will be getting bonbon.

- The famous on air scandal of "It is not intended my dear" with Candy Crowley on CNN.

After Mubarak:

Positive:

- Changing some of the hated old faces.

- Smiling.

Negative:

- Again Talking Talking Talking ... ( he never acknowledged it as a revolution in all that talking as well), and telling Reuters on 13/2 that the country is being governed in the same way it was under the ousted president!!!

- I cant count how many times he said "I don't know".

- No progress in the business flow, no clear cut solutions, no transparency in even changing the ministers.

- No clear timeline of the change period specially that it is restricted by 90 days.

758) Egypt 2.0 ::: DVF > R !!

Many of my MBA or Diploma students will remember this formula, for the rest of my dear readers, let me explain... In order to have any mega change or wide change in a system whether it is an organization or even a country, there is a certain formula that controls this.. DVF>R

D is Dissatisfaction with the current situation that needs to be changed
V is Vision of why, what and how you want to change
F is the First concrete and solid steps that fastens the change process
R is the Resistance to change.

If any of the 3 factors on the left side of this formula is missing, the whole change process will simply fail because it will be equal to zero and multiplying any of the rest by zero will lead to zero, and the resistance will win.

If we simply applied this to our situation now in Egypt, we will find that:
- We was (and still are) dissatisfied with the situation Egypt has been in whether in the day to day life, overall goals, international positioning, corruption, dehumanization...etc. That is the (D).
- We have an incomplete Vision about why and how we are changing and where we are heading; hence, we need to work together and have a transparent conversation with the governing body (Army) to reach consensus about that or else we will lose the (V).
- We have taken 1 concrete step in the change process (taking out Mubarak), but it is not yet enough for the ignition power needed for change and standing on a solid ground, this needs to be reinforced with the real change in our governing system (Constitution) that will be the threshold for building a different system on the short and long term, or else we will risk losing the (F) as well.
- On the other hand, the Resistance is something that we have to take into account big time because the resistance -although it is standing alone on the right side of the equation- is reinforced by many factors like the Shafik's Government, Amn El Dawla,7ezb Watany leaders, and even people who are with the revolution, but don't have the enough pateince and tolerance to ride through this extremely hard and challenging period.

So in short, we have a big role in working together to:
1) Respect the dissatisfaction of some people and try to make them understand the nature of this period, baring in mind that many people seek the welfare of the country even if they have different point of view.
2) Reach a common ground on the Vision of where are we heading at least for the coming period.
3) Focus on the constitution (changes and new one) as it is the most important factor in building a new republic.
4) Push more and more for prosectuing the corruption figures even if in power, take faster actions with having a clean government, and respectful police, and having a Transparent, & continous dialogue with the army to be able to minimize the Resistance.
And above all NOT LOSING THE FAITH in ourselves and our ability to make things happen and shape history ... imagine how proud you will be when you can make a real positive change in your country that will affect its development for years and years to come, and stand one day proud that you didnt give up and completed your war for freedom and development till you accomplish your mission no matter how hard it is.

This Revolution was to get back our country, and although I am optimistic about the end in-shaa-Allah, but I am not feeling good regarding what is happening and what is not happening now..

There are direct and clear actions that can make this revolution rest and start focusing on development only:

1. Mubarak's appointed government ( including governors) has to go down, and a transitional independent government has to run the country during the 6 months. By the way Mr.Shafik, it is a Revolution not a Movement as you claim, I hope you can get it.

2. Mubarak's party the NPD has to be frozen till the end of people assembly elections (that has to be after the election of a new president), so that they turn into an opposition party and earn their way up like any other party. By the way Muabark is still officially the president of NDP, and this freezing will cut any kind of offical power for him and its members.

3. The amended constitution has to include the articles tackling the authority of the president and minize it against the legistlative and judicial authorities. It has to be issued as a Temp Constitution that has to be replaced by a permanent constitution before end of 2012 , so that the new president will be obliged to do it.

4. Have Gamal Mubarak on Trial and joining his friend Ahmed Ezz in Jail to stop the fishy stuff that is taking place these days, and start taking serious actions for getting our money back from Muabarak's family and their friends (like Hussien Salem) and assistants (like Safwat El Sherif).

5. Immediate freedom for all those who were detained in Jan 25th revolution (the non-criminals), and change the structure and nature of "Amn El Dawla".

6. Setting a definite date for suspending the State of Emergency, it has to be before the constitutional referendum (i.e before April), and announce the results of investigating what happened on 28/1 and 2/2 so that people can start trusting the Police.

7. Ignoring the desperate trials from some of the old regime tails to split the unity of the Egyptians in one way or another (religious, ideology, money....etc).

Otherwise, I dont think this revolution can rest and declare real and complete victory. Time is passing and we need to move on with the development of our country ... The 21st century cant wait more than that for Egypt to catch.

We don't wanna FINISH our Revolution ... We wanna COMPLETE it.

This should be the right slogan because it is the real solution. No matter what we do or say, if we don't fix our education system along with fixing our political one, we will never be able to solve our problems.

Education is the root cause of all the problems and challenges we are facing in the Egyptian Society... Fixing Education will take years but will end up with people who have values, commitment, vision, respect, and awarness as well. This will inturn help in having ongoing development in economic, political, and sociocultural systems.

But in order to have successful development it has to be done concurrently on the following axis:
1) Building the Student's personality through practical syllabus that helps him to think, solve, create, and take responsibility of what he decides along with the ability to work in teams to achieve a common goal.
2) Prepare the Teacher to broaden his role to cover horizontal and vertical tasks that help him to contain and develop the students.
3) Provide the right equipment that helps students to be up to date and saves time and effort.
4) Have the right qualified management that runs schools and centres to be able to focus and achieve the value goals.
5) Professional Training for graduates and managers to be able to do this transition with the new generations.
6) Training for the parents on how to raise children in the 21st century.

Without having the will, the strength, and the patience to do so, Egypt will never develop even if we have a revolution everyday.

Although I was planning to start this series with having personal mission that goes along with the country, but this new and ugly incident is obliging me to talk about it now as it is in the core of what I am campaigning for..

Top CBS foreign correspondent Lara Logan suffered a "brutal" sexual assault at the hands of a mob in Egypt while covering the downfall of president Hosni Mubarak, her US network says.

"She and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into a frenzy," CBS said in a statement on Tuesday.

"In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew.

The incident took place on Cairo's central Tahrir Square last Friday, the day Mubarak stepped down, CBS said.

Being Egyptian now means that we HAVE to keep the wonderful and civilized image we had during the revolution.. Not having a single of harassment during the whole revolution was a message to the whole world, and would in-turn build trust and will help tourism to boom and inturn the national income... but such acts will ruin all what we are doing, and will take us many steps back.... This is far from Being Egyptian 2.0, and this is not the 25 January guys.

What should we do:

2. Dont allow ANYone to do harassment ANY girl even if you don't know her. Do what ever you can according to the circumstances whether in the streets, buses,..etc. This by time will fade this ugly and sick practice away in-shaa Allah and will help us move on to Egyptian 2.0

Yesterday 11.02.2011 was the happiest day of my life.... Egypt is finally in the hands of the Egyptian People, Egypt is free, and we were part of making history... One Day I will take my little son or daughter on my lap and tell them how did their father fight through Writing, Lecturing, Protesting for weeks, and even Defending his home and family in the streets...Allah Akbar, thank you God.

It was a dream that finally came true through unity, determination, and sincerity.

I have always believed in Egypt and have always loved her to the extent that some of my friends have mocked me for having its flag in my room, and national songs in my car, refusing job offers with triple my income in UK and Gulf areas, giving lectures for free, and even my work as VP of Nahdet El Mahrousa. But this mocking just gave more power, and Khaled Sa3eed's death was a turning point... since the day Khaled Sa3eed died, I have decided to speak up and not to be afraid... through the blog, facebook, and even in public...my mother was so worried, and they have tried to hack my account twice, but I have seen people dying for Egypt and it just gave me more and more determination and freed my heart from any fear...and thanks to the admin of Khaled Sa3eed (Wael Ghoneim) who kept inspiring me and others as well to continue, and of course our brothers and sisters in Tunis who gave us the final push and helped us throughout the revolution. I can finally celebrate my birthday now.

But this article is not about me or others...it is about US all...I have written many times saying that: "If this generation won't change Egypt, it will never change", and "If Egyptians have a vision and mission to unite around, you will see miracles"...and thank God...thank God...thank God that I have lived and witnessed my beloved country FREE...

I have worked in the Internet field for many years, and used to hold almost the same post Ghoneim is holding in Google but for its competitor MSN, and I really liked him calling this revolution REVOLUTION 2.0 as an indication of revolution on everything and system that has been rotten in Egypt... but allow me to say that I think that Revolution 2.0 is almost over, and EGYPT 2.0 has just started... In order to launch Egypt 2.0 a huge work and responsibility is waiting for us. We have just finished dealing with the past, and now we have the challenge of building our won future.

I will be mostly dedicating the blog in the coming period for a new series called EGYPT 2.0 about how can we all contribute in building a new Egypt that we can continue to be proud of, and can one day pass it on as a treause to our kids.

I will be mainly talking about:

- Life: Having a Mission
- Work: Productivity vs. Activity
- Home: Being a Productive Family
- Society: Integration and Solidarity
- World: International Image and Positioning

For now, have some rest for a couple of days, take your time to reflect and realize, and let's start this week to build our country... It is now ours, and it is our responsibility.

For all the people living in Egypt and reading this blog... this is the time for you to take part in rebuilding what we lost... We went protesting defending our freedom and rights, and we stood in streets defending our properties and families... it is time now to defend our society and economy as well..WHILE KEEPING PROTESTING.. President Mubarak has to go along with the whole regime, OUR REVOLUTION IS NOT OVER YET.

Let's rebuild trust in our economy,

let's not buy foreign currencies now,

let's just withdraw what we need,

let's buy Egyptian products even if less quality,

let's cancel our leisure vacations abroad and do it inside Egypt,

let's work more quality hours and waste less time,

let's clean our neighbourhoods, and help in rebuilding the shops and places we used to go to,

let's keep the spirit of solidarity and tolerance,
let's help those who lost their income, get out our Zakah and 3oshoor now.

Let's Give EGYPT a chance ... coz it deserves.

750) Egypt :: The Time of Wisdom !

The Ignition of the Revolution needed the power of Youth, but at this stage we need the Wisdom of the elder people without losing the momentum of the youth.

In this endless loop of Egyptian regime and protesters action and reaction to see who will surrender, I think the practical way out of this situation is through "Lagnet El 7okama2"- Wise-men Committee (http://www.shabab-masr.com/) who can negotiate with regime and the protesters while keeping protesting and the right of protesting at anytime anywhere in any number, till we reach what we need (MUBARAK DOWN).

This committee has the best people in the country, and to be more practical:

1) They should be delegated from the protesters and they can lead the negotiations and do all the changes.
2) Mubarak has to leave now, he should just go and spend the remaining time in Sharm.
3) The committee should divide the transitional period to 2 parts; from Feb to Aug., and from Sept till end of 2012. The first part has to do with the urgent reformations (like 76,77,88 in constitution, canceling emergency law, parliment elections..etc), ending by the presidential elections. The second part is the part where a new constitution needs to be established along with its laws, and the whole new hierahcy and flow of the country, and I think the President elect in 2011 should be leading this part and then call for new elections by end of 2012 (become and Interim President leading the transition) this can be Amr Moussa, Ahmed Zewial...etc. Then have a completely new president then.

By the way..these protests are a real revolution...so please let's refer to it as "Thawret El Ghadab - Rage Revolution" as it started, or "Thawret El Shabab - Youth Revolution", and not just a protest.

Before you read this article, please note that.I am one of those who have been writing on the blog and facebook for a long time regarding reformation in Egypt. I have been a member in many reformation groups on facebook, and have taken part in some of the last week protests and still see protest as a bargaining power. Plz read post 748.

In these very hard days, we need to stop for a minute and think together. This Regime is a lousy one, and proved to be really weak one. Actually the last thing I'd care about is Muabark himself, I do care about OUR FUTURE on the short and long term. I don't even care about who will come as much as HOW he will come.

The regime, and us have solid stand, while the majority of the people are in the middle. The one who will be able to take them on his side will eventually win... We need to change our strategy and tactics when we find the regime winning significant number of the masses.

Although we haven't won the whole war against the old system and anti-reformists, but we won some battles so far, let's explore it together:
- Leading the power of the street, and obliging the regime to do many changes in 1 week that it didn't do in the last 30 years (even it is on the tactical level) which is a great insurance and power point if we found the regime is fooling us.
- Ensuring the good relations and support with the Army (the real insurance of what the regime has promised).
- Having started a real and public dialogue with the current regime to move into a new phase with much better people and figures (with Ahmed Shafiq & Omar Soliman).
- Having a public apology for the first time since Mubarak came to power (today by the PM).
- Having a reputable "Wisdom Committee" by Egyptian figures who can play a great role in supporting and mentoring the negotiations. http://www.shabab-masr.com/
- Having Muabark out in September (potentially).
- Potential Trials for the traitors and corrupted people.
- Potential massive change in the Parliament.
- Changing some urgent articles in the constitution.
- Gaining National & International Respect and Support.
- Last and not least, changing the culture of the Egyptians and awaking all the good traits that were almost gone, and those who tasted it can't allow going back to dirt.

What did we are still missing: (some strategic ones THAT we have to negotiate vigorously this week)
- Cancelling the Emergency law (biggest miss so far and should be no.1 in negotiations).
- Mubarak resigning from the presidency of NPD (should be no.2 in negotiation, this will kill the NDP).
- Cancelling the last elections and calling for a new parliament (should be no.3 in negotiation).
- Dropping the whole Constitution and having a new one (can be postponed to be right after the presidential elections as long as there are open reforms with supervised referendums in the current one).
- Having Mubarak out now (the constitutional dilemma!).

As I said in my last article, this is the time for negotiation, and I was asking to continue the protests while negotiating.. there are MANY people getting into the scene and trying to jump over the revolution...and same thing happening from people inside the regime as well. I think -I may be wrong- but again I THINK we need to change tactics, and go protesting in different places -that don't have to be in Tahrir- while negotiating during the coming days. We need to WIN THIS REVOLUTION.

It is not about the security, daily life, and such stuff, those who are looking for that are short term thinkers..it is about building on what we gained to continue our marsh for democracy, there is no link between Tahrir protests and going back to work as they claim. "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin in 1818

I have studied Strategic Studies, I am teaching Strategic Management, and I am trying as much as I can to have a bird view....

I can say that with all the dangers that may be or not be planned by the regime, we have to focus now on negotiation and make them (whomever they are; regime, ekhwan, or others) miss the chance to ruin our revolution.......
We just have to keep alert and active during the coming days of negotiations, and then go back if nothing happens or if they didn't ensure what will be agreed upon in public. We need either to grow Trust with the new VP & government, or lose it forever.
They have to be worried all the time.. we cant just leave him till September, he must know that we can come again on ANY Friday if he is not committed to what they promised.

When this revolution started it had many aims, and we need to keep focusing on them and only them. Let's have this as GOM3ET EL BEDAYA (Friday of Starting a new phase in the Egyptian History). Mafeesh Thawra Belta2seet.

Again I may be wrong, this is my "Ijtihad"... If we have to continue going to the protests today anyway, PLEASE make sure that everyone in the protest is clean as we did on Tuesday. We can't afford further clashes, we really can't.

To all Muslims & Christian guys and girls: please go to the mosques & churches today at noon and let's pray together at the same time for our beloved Country asking God to do the best for the country and its people.

May God bless us, and help us to pass these critical days and months.

748) To Egypt ... with Love !

I celebrated my birthday this year as I have never did before... I celebrated it in the streets whether standing defending my home and family or in the protests (of Jan 25, Jan 29, and Feb 1) defending democarcy (picture to the left of me taking part of Feb 1st Million Protesters peaceful Protest).

After all the ups and downs that happened this great historical week, I think the people have started to gain a lot on the tactical level, but still way to go on the Strategic level. I mean some serious changes happened (VP, new government, ..etc), but the real deep root change hasn't yet.

This can be summarized in (if Mubarak really wants to continue his presidency safely):
1) Having a Supreme Committee of independednt reputable people to put a new demoratic consitution and have a national referundum about it.
2) Calling for new Elections (supervised by the Judges and watched by the national and international entities) for the Parilment, and the winning party/ies form the real government of the people and for the people.
3) Cancelling the Emergency Law effective Immediately, along with a public trail for those who betrayed the country.
4) Resigning from the presidency of the National Democratic Party (there wont be a party if he resigned, I assure you).
5) Passing the day to day work and public communication and real power to the Vice-President and not appearing again till the end of the presidential period.
These stuff are STRATEGIC and guides us where to head durin the coming months and even years, regardless of who is governing us. It is about HOW and not WHO.

The best outcome of what happened is that it showed us the we are good and still alive. I was there and part of what happened... I have been there for the last 4 years over the internet, but it feels so different when I am part of the events myself (see the youngest protester to the right).

This is the time to start negotiation in parallel with keeping peacful protests. The negotations should include all needs, and its results should be announced by the army as an insurance. The problem is who will negotiate, and they will play on this point, and this may lead to clashes between pro and anti-regime protests that requires the interference of the police under the name of keeping the safety of them both..

If they dont negoiate soon in one way or another, then people have no choice other than continuing massive street protests with all its consequences.

I was optimistic till yesterday, now I can't say I am still optimistic...There is something wrong in the equation, and it will end up with unpredictable results.

Democracy has a price and we have already paid a big chunck of it.

My birthday this year comes in a "mon3ataf tareekhy" in my life -and in our beloved Egypt as well - while facing many challenges in being myself again, riding through many disappointments on the personal level and making use of many achievements on the professional level.

My wishes this year are mainly to be forgiven...

First and most important... I am seeking forgiveness from Allah, I feel and know that I wasn't really a good Muslim during the past period. I do really seek His mercy and forgiveness, and His help in being a better person.. I really want this more than anything in the world now.

Second ... I am seeking forgiveness from my old & gold friends whom I wasn't really giving the appropriate time and care as I should be. I was completely focusing on my career, but now I promise them I will be there for them.

Third ... I am seeking forgiveness from all those whom I had un-intentionality hurt or caused them any pain. I never planned to do that, and I am not perfect, and will never be.

Fourth ... I hope that I can forgive those who really caused me pain whether they intended to or not. There are some scars inside me, but I know it can be healed with time.

Other than forgiveness .. I wish to keep and build on the success I had in my career, AND asking God to help me find -this year- my life partner, someone who can really understand me and feel me, and vice-versa. Someone who is looking to construct not distruct. Someone serious enough to know what is marriage, and loose enough to know how to enjoy life.

I wish that God will bless Egypt as well, and to remember this date as a date that we will always be proud of....a date for breaking our fear and starting change from within. We have waited so long for this date, and it is about time to solidify together to achieve our goals of a having a better Egypt.

Sorry for the long wishes, but I like sharing with you. This blog has become a second home to me, and you do really support me more than you can imagine.

What happened during the past week ending up with the impeachment of President Ben Ali is something that deserves respect from all the Arab countries. The Chaos happening now is a product of the long years of suppression, but I am sure it is a phase that will pass. AND I HOPE THAT EGYPT WILL BE NEXT on JAN 25th :)

I do always like to help my friends, students, readers, colleagues, to get through their problems, and do my best to give them the right piece of advice. Thank God it always works even though sometimes I am sure 100% it will. However, year after year, I started feeling that I am finding trouble in thinking, analysing and taking all my decisions myself till I have reached a point during the past couple of weeks that I can't take it anymore.. I need a mentor, reference, someone I can trust his/her opinion and knows me well to give me a sincere advice.

Bab El Naggar Mekhala3 .... is the phrase that pops into my mind many times during the past weeks. I can help the people and succeed, and can't do it for myself anymore!

May be the only positive thing that resulted from the terrorist attack on Christians is that it showed how Egyptians (Muslims and Christians) are united, let's continue this solidarity and celebrate tonight the Eastern Christmas with our fellow citizens.

Once upon a time there was Mr."Shik" who was heading a country for looong years.. one day he decided to run for the zillion's term, so Magles el "Shak" decided to nominate him, only him, and none but him (so help us God). Magles el"Shak" called for elections where people of "Shok" voted for their beloved leader "Shik" to "run" their country till further notice, and since then this country's nick name has become "Shik, Shak, Shok" with national anthem carrying the same name (listen to it here).

Of course the previous paragraph is purely imaginary and "doesn't ever" happen in reality! For example, in 2005 presidential elections, the last thing I could have imagined is to have President Mubarak running for 2011 elections. The question is: should I be prepared to see President Mubarak running for 2017 elections?

Before you say: "no way", note that on the day this picture was taken (in Italy) Muabark said he will be inagurating -along with Berlescony- the Italian Univeristy in Egypt in 2017.

735) What it takes for Career Breaks!

I wonder why do many employees in Egypt insist on joining or at least contracting for a new job before quitting their old job. I see the decision of quitting an old job has nothing to do with joining another one. It is like someone waiting to hook up with a new wife in order to divorce his old wife!

If you cant take it anymore and can afford yourself for a while, why don't you get a career break to stop and see where are you heading and adjust your path to what serves your vision.

A career break is a period of time out from employment. Traditionally, this was for mothers to raise children, but it is now used for people taking time out of their career for personal development and/or professional development.

A career break is usually between one month and one year and is adopted by many employees in Europe and the US. Sometimes you stop to think, sometimes you stop to learn & explore, and sometimes you stop to rest... I think everyone should experience a career break every 5 years specially if he/she can financially afford it....What do you think about that?

734) E3terafat Mohaly Part 4::: Noor aka Tooti !!!

I didnt know people can experience heart breaking in different forms other than the typical man-woman relationship.

After more than 4 months of experiencing fatherhood with my lovely niece "Noor", she left back to Jeddah a week ago. I feel awful, awkward, and hollow. Living with her made me feel that I have something much bigger than career to live for.. everyday I used to finish my work as early as possible to comeback and have my prize.. 1 or 2 hours of playing, laughter, even crying and fighting..

I even miss the days that I worked from home and lost a lot of time for babysitting her, but was enjoying wasting my time for the first time... I miss the minute she wakes up and asks for food especially if were alone at home and I go and prepare food for her (sometimes I mix up completely wrong ingredients, but it worked). I miss that every single thing I eat or drink, she had to come running and ask for a bite or a sip. I miss buying her stuff that makes her happy and teaching her new tricks (that can drive her mum crazy sometimes) -see the picture to the left for her wearing H-dabbour wig-.

I even miss watching very silly stuff on TV that makes her happy, I even memorized songs that I hate but make her smile.

I have always loved and adored children, but living with one is an experience that you are not the same person after it ends. I will be counting the days & hours till she comes on a short visit (hopefully in 1500 hours).

Please God, help me make the right choice and marry a lovely woman and have lovely kids like Noor.

I wonder why do some women consider their husbands literally everything in their lives. Their whole life starts and ends with and at their men! I am not against house-wives but against the woman who doesn't have anything in her life but her man..

I think the wife should share, help, please... her man, but she should have her own activities (other than house duties) whether as at work or just for fun. I think this is even better for the man who will not be taking her for granted, and it will boost her self-confidence.

One of my female friends was telling me that she has to be involved in everything in her husband's life so that he wont be used to doing anything alone!!! Why, this makes men trapped and gets an opposite effect.

To all house-wives... Would you get a life?

First person: Why should I do that? ..
Second person: to get more money ..

Second person: to save and increase your savings in the bank ..
First person: Why should I do that? ..
Second person: to become rich ..
First person: What shall I do with wealth?!
Second person: when you grow old you can enjoy your time with your children and your wife
First person: This is exactly what I'm doing now. I do not want to postpone it till I grow old!

Enjoy what you have now, don't wait for tomorrow or next year in order to enjoy life... In each stage of your life you will have challenges, setbacks, and success in one of the different aspects of life.. it is a whole package that you have to get its best and overcome its worst in every stage...

If you waited till you are secured to start enjoying life..... You will never do!
